Opuntia microdasys 'Bunny Ear Cactus' -Red Dot (Bare Rooted)

Opuntia Microdasys 'Bunny Ear Cactus' is a plant cultivar that is well-known for its distinctive look and low maintenance requirements. This variation has Red Dots on it. Like any other Bunny Ear Cactus, this cactus also belongs to Mexico. This Mexican native cactus is highly valued for its flattened, pad-like stems that are coated in tiny, hair-like spines called glochids that can irritate skin when touched. The 'Bunny Ear Cactus' type gets its name from the way each stem resembles a flattened oval or teardrop shape, which exactly looks just like rabbit ears. In particular, the Red Dot variety is distinguished by its glochids, which are a brilliant red colour that contrasts sharply with the green stems.

Opuntia Microdasys 'Bunny Ear Cactus' grows well in soil that drains well, including gravelly or sandy soil mixtures. Once established, it tolerates drought well and needs little watering. Avoid over-watering because it can damage the plant's roots. Like any other cacti, this plant is also sold as bare-rooted, which means the soil around its roots will be absent. This method prevents any kind of disease in the plant's roots while in transit. It's crucial to plant bare-rooted cacti promptly to ensure they are established successfully in their new environment.

Opuntia Microdasys 'Bunny Ear Cactus' Red Dot will thrive with the right care, generating new pads studded with its striking red glochids that will accentuate any garden or landscape. Get your first Opuntia Microdasys 'Bunny Ear Cactus' from Secculent now!
